Mobility as a service is a cloud based technology that keeps all the members of your network connected regardless of location. A mobility as a service network platform benefits both management and staff. Employees can work from home or other remote location with full access to their data and network applications, while employers can maintain full control over individual laptops and handhelds by monitoring activity from a distance. Mobility as a service platforms centralize the deployment, connection, service and management of all user endpoints, proving that it IS possible to herd cats.
Gone are the physical IT restrictions imposed by a LAN based network when you switch to a mobility as a service platform. Cloud based technology is the future, especially with a workforce that connects primarily with the Internet versus the company network. Imagine how much money your company will save without a LAN based infrastructure to maintain. And, consider the benefits your employees reap from the freedom that comes with working from home, particularly those employees having young children. Worker morale rises substantially when work and life are in balance. Mobility as a service allows employees that freedom while giving the employer ultimate control over the remote activities of its at home work force.
Businesses are going to have to convert to cloud based IT technology eventually if they want to stay in the game. Boundaries have all but disappeared with the advent of the global marketplace. IT departments must stay on top of todays constantly shifting office technology; the biggest shift underway in the early 21st Century is towards worker mobility. Marketplace competition now takes place on an international stage, and employees must be able to pack up and go wherever needed while remaining connected to the company network. Without mobility as a service serving as ringmaster, network compliance and security could turn into a nightmare.
A cloud based network requires a mobility as a service platform that combines infrastructure with operations tools and security and compliance applications to ensure reliable connectibility, functionality and security. LAN based tools are not capable of the task. A cloud based network should be available wherever and whenever a user needs to connect, including around the clock service and support. Done right, it can eventually eliminate the need for a LAN based network entirely. Again, consider the savings. And dont forget that todays talent pool places a great deal of importance on telecommuting both as a way to balance work and life and to reduce their carbon footprint.
